I’m Cindy, the middle one on “Join the Chat.”  Not the oldest or youngest! I am a daughter, mother, wife, sister, grandmother and most importantly a child of the one true God. Growing up in a large family in the south, my dad worked long hours and my mom was the homemaker extraordinaire. My love for cooking family meals and making others feel welcome in my home, comes from her modeling this so beautifully. A few years after marriage to my wonderful husband, I was transplanted 1200 miles from my hometown to Illinois where our two children would grow up. I must admit it was hard to be so far from my family. Thankfully, my husband’s parents lived locally and were very involved in our lives. Life in my 20s, 30s and 40s was busy raising a family and being part of a family business made up of transportation, Tours and travel. I’m grateful to have been able to be a part of my husband‘s career in  a field that was very interesting to me. I choose to work part-time to be involved as much as possible in my children’s lives. Room mom, picture lady, Girl Scout leader, lunchroom helper, sport teams support, Sunday School teacher, chaperones and community volunteer we some hats I wore.

Life is so full, but it’s important to set foundational priorities and ask the Lord to help guide you every step. I was lonely and He provided a few good friends for Bible Study. To this day, 20+ years later we are still friends. Some have moved away and experienced many changes, but our sisterhood remains as long as we make the priority to reach out to one another.

Life is not a destination it is a journey with some bumpy roads and some mountain top views. My sincere desire and hope is to encourage ladies on “Join the Chat.”
